Tens of thousands of Somalis have settled in Minnesota, more than any other state in the country, after escaping a brutal civil war back home. But many have brought psychological scars with them. As parents struggle to provide for their children, the second-generation Somali-Americans in Minnesota are facing their own challenges. Poverty, bigotry, drugs and violence are ever present in their community, and young Somalis are trying to find the path to a better life.
